Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Shugan Jieyu capsules combined with fluoxetine for post- stroke depression. Methods：A total of 74 cases of patients with post-stroke depression were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method，37 cases in each group. Both groups were given routine stroke treatment to control related risks factors； the control group was additionally treated with fluoxetine hydrochloride dispersible tablets，and the observation group was additionally treated with Shugan Jieyu capsules based on the treatment of the control group. The improvement of depressive degree， cognitive function， neurological function and motor function in the two groups were observed. The clinical effect and the incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups were compared. Results：After treatment，the scores of Mini- Mental State Examination(MMSE) and short- form Fugl- Meyer Assessment (FMA) in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the scores of Self-rating Depressing Scale(SDS) and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS) were decreased(P＜0.05)；the scores of MMSE and FMA in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05)，and the scores of SDS and NIHSS were lower(P＜0.05). The clinical effect in the observation group was better than that in the control group， the difference being significant(Z=1.825，P＜0.05). There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the incidences of nausea and vomiting， dry mouth， constipation and sexual dysfunction between the two groups(P＞0.05). Conclusion： Shugan Jieyu capsules combined with fluoxetine for post-stroke depression can significantly improve the depressive degree， cognitive function，neurological function and motor function of patients.
