Abstract： Objective： To observe the application effect of Chinese herbal fumigation combined with intermediatefrequency therapeutic apparatus on patients with knee osteoarthritis. Methods： A total of 64 cases of patients with knee osteoarthritis were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method， 32 cases in each group. The control group was given glucosamine sulfat，Celecoxib capsules，and intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate， and the observation group was additionally given computerized intermediate- frequency therapeutic apparatus and Chinese herbal fumigation based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effect was evaluated in the two groups. In the two groups， Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) was applied to evaluating arthralgia degree before and after intervention，and Lysholm Knee Score Scale to evaluating the knee joint function. During treatment，safety was recorded. Results：The total effective rate was 87.50% in the observation group，higher than that of 65.63% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Before intervention，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of scores of exercise pain and pain at tender points between the two groups(P＞0.05). After intervention，in the observation group，scores of exercise pain and pain at tender points were lower than those in the control group respectively，and the two scores were decreased significantly when compared with those before intervention(P＜0.05). After intervention， the knee joint function in the two groups was improved when compared with that before intervention，and the score of the knee joint function in the observation group was higher than that in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). During treatment， no significant abnormal events occurred in the two groups. Conclusion： In the clinical treatment of knee osteoarthritis， the therapy of Chinese herbal fumigation combined with intermediate- frequency therapeutic apparatus has significant curative effect，which can alleviate pain and improve joint function with higher safety.
