Effect of Abdominal Acupuncture Combined with Moxibustion on Gastrointestinal Function and Gastrointestinal Hormone Levels in Patients After Gastrectomy
Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of the therapy of abdominal acupuncture combined with moxibustion on gastrointestinal function and gastrointestinal hormone levels in patients after gastrectomy. Methods: A total of 80 patients after gastrectomy were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method,40 cases in each group. The control group was given routine perioperative care and moxibustion for treatment, and the observation group was additionally treated with abdominal acupuncture based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effect and gastrointestinal hormone levels such as leptin, ghrelin and motilin were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 92.50% in the observation group, higher than that of 77.50% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). The recovery time of gastrointestinal function, first exhaust time, first defecation time and hospitalization time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, differences being significant (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the comparison of levels of leptin, ghrelin and motilin between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of leptin, ghrelin and motilin in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the above three levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 10.00% in the control group and 12.50% in the observation group, there being no significant difference(P>0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of abdominal acupuncture combined with moxibustion is helpful for the recovery of gastrointestinal peristalsis and the improvement of gastrointestinal hormone levels in patients after gastrectomy, with great clinical therapeutic effect.
