Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture and moxibustion combined with motor imagery therapy for patients with hemiplegia after stroke. Methods:A total of 105 cases of patients with hemiplegia after stroke were selected and divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the random number table method,45 and 60 cases in each group respectively. The control group was given routine treatment of internal medicine, and the treatment group was additionally given acupuncture and moxibustion combined with motor imagery therapy based on the treatment of the control group. The rehabilitation effect, the scores of Fugl-Meyer Assessment(Fugl-Meyer),Berg Balance Scale(BBS), and Quadriplegia Index of Function(QIF) for evaluating activity of daily living were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 95.0% in the treatment group, and 71.1% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of Fugl-Meye of limbs and the total scores in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and each score above in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of BBS and QIF in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the two scores in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: In the rehabilitation treatment of patients with hemiplegia after stroke, the therapy of acupuncture and moxibustion combined with motor imagery therapy has significant curative effect, which can significantly improve motor function, the balance ability of lower limbs.
