Abstract:Objective:To observe the effect of consciousness-restoring balance acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training on motor function and life quality of patients with stroke. Methods:A total of 106 cases of patients with stroke were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, 53 cases in each group. Both groups were given basic treatment; the control group was additionally given rehabilitation training, and the observation group was additionally treated with consciousness-restoring balance acupuncture based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for four weeks. Before and after treatment, the muscle strength of extremities, and the scores of Berg Balance Scale(BBS) , Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA) , Functional Independence Measure(FIM) , and Stroke- Specific Quality of Life(SS- QOL) were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the muscle strength of wrist extension, wrist flexion, hip flexion, and knee flexion in the two groups were improved when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the improvement in the observation group was better than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of BBS,FMA,FIM and SS-QOL in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of consciousness-restoring balance acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training for patients with stroke can effectively promote the recovery of the muscle strength of their extremities, and improve their motor function, activity of daily living, and life quality.
