Abstract： The related literature on the application of Chinese medicine after skin flap prothesis in recent years were analyzed， including Chinese herbal prescriptions for oral administration and external application， analysis of the effective components of single medicine and the application of Chinese patent medicine. Besides，the authors made a review on the present situation of experimental study and clinical application on Chinese medicine preventing swelling and vascular crisis after skin flap prothesis. The application of Chinese medicine after skin flap prothesis can improve the survival rate of flaps by inhibiting platelet aggregation，reducing inflammatory responses，improving microcirculation as well as relieving the swelling and the pain，etc. However，the clinical manifestations of blood stasis and heat toxin need to be solved urgently. According to the theory of "same treatment for different diseases" based on Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation，Simiao Yongan tang is expected to improve the blood supply of flaps， reduce complications and increase the survival rate， which also provides a new clinical idea for the application of such a prescription in skin flap prothesis.
