Effect of Intervention of Nursing Model Guided by Theory of Health Preservation in Chinese Medicine Combined with Routine Nursing on Health Care and Recovery in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus
Abstract: Objective: To discuss the application value of intervention of nursing model guided by theory of health preservation in Chinese medicine combined with routine nursing on health care and recovery in patients with diabetes mellitus. Methods:A total of 200 cases of patients with diabetes mellitus were divided into the control group(intervention of routine western medicine nursing) and the observation group(intervention of nursing model guided by theory of health preservation in Chinese medicine combined with routine nursing) according to their willingness,78 and 122 cases in each group respectively. The follow-up lasted for one year. The levels of fasting blood glucose(FBG),2-hour postprandial blood glucose(P2hBG) and glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c) before and after intervention in the two groups were observed. The re- hospitalization rate and the incidence of complications during one year were compared between the two groups. The self-efficacy and life quality in the two groups were evaluated by General Self- Efficacy Scale(GSES) and Diabetes Quality of Life(DQOL) respectively. Results: The levels of FBG, P2hBG, and HbA1c in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before nursing, and the related indexes in the observation group after nursing were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After intervention, the re- hospitalization rate during one year was 9.02% in the observation group, and 26.92% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). The incidence of complications was 8.60% in the observation group, and 34.62% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After nursing, the scores of self-efficacy in the two groups were increased, and the score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). After nursing, the scores of life quality in the two groups were decreased, and the improvement of the score in the observation group was more significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: For patients with diabetes mellitus, the intervention of nursing model guided by theory of health preservation in Chinese medicine combined with routine nursing conduces to controlling blood glucose level, and reducing the incidence of complications, with good effect of health preservation and rehabilitation.
