Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Xiao'er Chiqiao Qingre granules combined with ribavirin for herpangina in children. Methods： A total of 82 cases of children with herpangina were selected and divided into the experiment group and the routine treatment group according to the random number table method，41 cases in each group. The routine treatment group was treated with ribavirin，and the experiment group was treated with Xiao'er Chiqiao Qingre granules combined with ribavirin. Both groups were treated for three days. The clinical effect and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Before and after treatment，the changes in the levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6)，procalitonin(PCT)，C-reactive protein(CRP)，immunoglobulin(Ig) A，IgG，and IgM in serum in the two groups were observed. Results： The total effective rate was 97.56% in the experiment group， and 82.92% in the routine treatment group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of IL- 6，PCT and CRP in serum in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the three levels above in the experiment group were lower than those in the routine treatment group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of IgA and IgG in the two groups were increased， when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the levels of IgA and IgG in the experiment group were higher than those in the routine treatment group(P＜0.05)；the levels of IgM in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the level of IgM in the experiment group was lower than that in the routin treatment group(P＜0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 4.88% in the experiment group，and 9.76% in the routine treatment group，there being no significance in the difference(P＞0.05). Conclusion： The therapy of Xiao'er Chiqiao Qingre granules combined with ribavirin in the treatment of herpangina in children can relieve inflammatory responses，and improve the immune function，whose curative effect is better than that of simple ribavirin.
