Abstract：Objective：To observe the effect of Pingxin mixture on heart rate，Galectin-3，and life quality of patients at vulnerable period of heart failure. Methods：A total of 81 cases of patients at vulnerable period of heart failure were enrolled and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method，41 and 40 cases in each group respectively. The control group was given routine treatment，and the observation group was additionally treated Pingxin mixture based on the treatment of the control group. All groups were treated for three months. The changes in heart rate，Galectin-3，and the scores of Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire(MLHFQ) were compared between the two groups. Results：After treatment，the levels of Galectin-3，mean heart rate，and the scores of MLHFQ in the two groups were lower than those before treatment，differences being significant(P＜0.05). The levels of Galectin-3，mean heart rate， and the score of MLHFQ in the observation group were lower than those in the control group， differences being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion：Pingxin mixture conduces to improving clinical symptoms of patient at vulnerable period of heart failure，and bring down the level of Galectin-3 and mean heart rate.
