Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Motomed intelligent exercise training combined with lowfrequency electric acupuncture for post- stroke spastic hemiplegia. Methods:A total of 96 cases of patients in the stage of spastic hemiplegia were randomly divided into three groups,32 cases in each group. The three groups were given routine rehabilitation treatment; the Motomed group was additionally given Motomed intelligent exercise training; the lowfrequency electric acupuncture group was additionally given low- frequency electric acupuncture; the comprehensive treatment group was additionally given Motomed intelligent exercise training combined with low-frequency electric acupuncture. The three groups were treated for four weeks. The changes in the modified Barthel index and clinic spastcity index(CSI) before and after treatment were observed and compared between the three groups. In order to evaluate the clinical effect, the scores of Simplified Fugl-Meyer Assessment(SFMA) for evaluating motor function and Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS) for evaluating muscular tension after treatment in the three groups were counted. Results:After treatment, the total effective rate was 90.63%,59.37% and 62.50% in the comprehensive treatment group, the Motomed group, and the lowfrequency electric acupuncture group respectively;the total effective rate in the comprehensive treatment group was higher than those in Motomed group and the low- frequency electric acupuncture group, differences being significant(P<0.05); there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the total effective rate between the Motomed group and the low-frequency electric acupuncture group(P>0.05). After treatment, when compared with those before treatment, the scores of modified Barthel index in the three groups were significantly increased(P<0.05), and the scores of CSI were significantly decreased(P<0.05). After treatment, the improvement of scores of Barthel index and CSI in the comprehensive treatment group was more significant than that in the Motomed group and the low-frequency electric acupuncture group(P< 0.05). After treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the scores of Barthel index and CSI between the Motomed group and the low-frequency electric acupuncture group(P>0.05). Conclusion:The comprehensive therapy of Motomed intelligent exercise training combined with low-frequency electric acupuncture is applied to post-stroke spastic hemiplegia, whose curative effect is better that that of simple Motomed intelligent exercise training or simple lowfrequency electric acupuncture.
