Abstract:objective:To observe the clinical effect of Babaodan capsules for postoperative syndrome in patients who had undergone chemoembolization for primary hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods: A total of 83 patients with primary hepatocellular carcinoma were divided into the control group(41 cases) and the observation group(42 cases) according to the random number table method. The control group was treated by transarterial radioembolization, and the observation group was additionally treated with oral administration of Babaodan capsules based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effect and symptom duration in the two groups were compared, and the changes of liver function and Karnofsky score before and after treatment were evaluated. Results:The total effective rate was 73.81% in the observation group, higher than that of 46.34% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). The duration of fever,liver-area pain, nausea and vomiting as well as abdominal distension in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group respectively, differences being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the comparison of the levels of aspartate transaminase(AST), total bilirubin(TBil) and alanine transaminase(ALT) between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of AST, TBil and ALT in the observation group were decreased when compared with those before treatment and lower than those in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the comparison of the Karnofsky score between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the Karnofsky score in the control group was decreased when compared with that before treatment, while the Karnofsky score in the observation group was increased;the Karnofsky score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion:Babaodan capsules have significant clinical effect in treating patients with postoperative syndrome who had undergone chemoembolization for hepatocellular carcinoma, and can improve the liver function.
