Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Yiqi Yangyin prescription combined with platinum- based chemotherapy regimen for advanced non- small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) of qi- yin deficiency type. Methods：A total of 178 cases of advanced NSCLC patients of qi- yin deficiency type were selected and divided into the control group and the experiment group according to different treatments， 89 cases in each group. Both groups were given platinum- based chemotherapy regimen，and the experiment group was additionally given Yiqi Yangyin prescription，21 days being a cycle， three cycles in total. The Chinese medicine symptom scores，the indexes of T lymphocyte subsets，the scores of Karnofsky performance status(KPS)，the curative effect of solid tumors and the incidence of toxic side effects were compared between the two groups. Results：After treatment，the scores of cough，expectoration，chest pain，shortness of breath，lassitude of spirit and lack of strength，dry mouth and constipation in the experiment group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05)，and the KPS was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the rising rate of the KPS in the experiment group was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05)，and the decline rate of the score was lower(P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of CD3+、CD4+ and the CD4+/CD8+ in the experiment group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05). The effective rate was 52.81% in the experiment group，higher than that of 31.46% in the control group(P＜ 0.05). The incidence of the decrease of leukocytes，hemoglobin，thrombocytopenia，gastrointestinal reaction and the liver function injury in the experiment group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion：The therapy of Yiqi Yangyin prescription combined with platinum-based chemotherapy regimen in treating advanced NSCLC of qi-yin deficiency type，can effectively relieve patients' clinical symptoms，reduce tumor focus，increase immune function and quality of life of patients，and alleviate toxic side effects of chemotherapy.
