Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of Maizhiling tablets combined with western medicine for lower extremity burns. Methods：A total of 82 patients with lower extremity burns were selected as the research objects and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method，41 cases in each group. The control group was applied povidone iodine ointment after cleaning the wound surface，and the observation group was additionally given Maizhiling tablets based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for four weeks. After treatment，the degree of lower limb edema，the scores of pain of the affected limb，and the clinical effect in the two groups were compared. Results： After treatment， the degree of lower limb edema in both groups was reduced， and the degree in the observation group was lighter than that in the control group， differences being significant(P＜0.01). After treatment，the scores of pain of the affected limb in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.01)，and the above scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.01). The total effective rate was 97.56% in the observation group and 78.05% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜ 0.01). Conclusion：The therapy of Maizhiling tablets combined with western medicine can effectively relieve the edema of the affected limb，and lessen the pain of the affected limb.
