Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of characteristic nursing of Chinese medicine for patients with herpes zoster. Methods：A total of 138 cases of patients with herpes zoster were divided into two groups according to random oddeven number method，69 cases in each group. The control group was given routine nursing intervention，and the observation group was additionally given characteristic nursing of Chinese medicine based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for two weeks. The incrustation time of herpes，the remission time of pain，the healing time of skin lesions，the scores of Visual Analogue Scale of pain(VAS)，and nursing satisfaction were observed and compared between the two groups. Results：After treatment，the incrustation time of herpes，the remission time of pain，and the healing time of skin lesions were significantly shorter than those in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the VAS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)；the score in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the scores of concern extent，service attitude，service quality，service accessibility，professional ability，and other indexes of nursing satisfaction in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion：In the treatment of herpes zoster， characteristic nursing of Chinese medicine can effectively promote incrustation of herpes， relieve pain， shorten the treatment time，and increase nursing satisfaction.
