Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Bushen Zhuanggu prescription for patients with lumbar disc herniation who underwent percutaneous intervertebral foraminoscopy. Methods：A total of 80 cases of patients with lumbar disc herniation were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group，40 cases in each group. The control group was given percutaneous intervertebral foraminoscopy and routine western medicine. The observation group was additionally treated with Bushen Zhuanggu prescription based on the treatment of the control group. The scores of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) after treatment were observed and compared between the two groups. The clinical effect was evaluated by Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA). Results： The total effective rate was 92.5% in the observation group， and 72.5% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，VAS score of pain in both groups was significantly lower than that before treatment(P＜0.05)，and JOA score was higher than that before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the improvement of vas and JOA score in observation group was more significant than that in control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion： Bushen Zhuanggu prescription has positive curative effect on the treatment of patients with lumbar disc herniation who underwent percutaneous intervertebral foraminoscopy. It can effectively relieve postoperative pain and improve the lumbar function.
