Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Zaoren Anshen granules combined with aripiprazole for schizophrenia of heart- spleen deficiency type，and its effect on neuroendocrine. Methods：A total of 88 cases of patients with schizophrenia of heart-spleen deficiency type were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method，44 cases in each group. The control group was given aripiprazole，and the observation group was additionally treated with Zaoren Anshen granules based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for three months. The scores of Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS)，cognitive function，and clinical effect were compared between the two groups. Before and after treatment， the levels of corticotropin releasing hormone(CRH)， adrenocorticotropic hormone(ATCH)， cortisol(COR)， thyroid- stimulating hormone(TSH)， triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroid hormone(T4) in serum were compared between the two groups. Results： The total effective rate was 95.45% in the observation group，higher than that of 77.27% in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the scores of positive symptoms，negative symptoms，and general psychopathology in PANSS scale in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment，and the scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group，differences being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the scores of attention/vigilance，verbal learning，and visual learning in the scale of MARTICS Consensus Cognitive Battery(MCCB) in the observation group were higher than those before treatment and those in the control group，differences being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of CRH，ACTH， COR，and TSH in serum in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment，and the levels of T3 and T4 were increased(P＜0.05)；the levels of CRH，ACTH，COR，and TSH in serum in the observation group were lower than those in the control group， and the levels of T3 and T4 were higher(P＜0.05). Conclusion： For patients with schizophrenia of heart-spleen deficiency type ， the therapy of Zaoren Anshen granules combined with aripiprazole can effectively improve their clinical symptoms，cognitive function，and clinical effect，and regulate neuroendocrine function.
