Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of auricular point pressing with beans for patients undergoing medical abortion. Methods:A total of 116 cases of patients with unplanned pregnancy undergoing medical abortion were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group, 58 cases in each group. The control group was given routine medicine for abortion, and the observation group was additionally treated with auricular point pressing with beans based on the treatment of the control group. During abortion, the degree of abdominal pain, the discharge time of decidual tissues, the time of vaginal bleeding, the curettage rate and the incidences of nausea and vomiting in the two groups were observed and compared. Results:The cases of mild abdominal pain in the observation group were significantly more than those in the control group, and the cases of severe abdominal pain were fewer, differences being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the discharge time of decidual tissues and the time of vaginal bleeding were significantly shorter than those in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the curettage rate and the incidences of nausea and vomiting was 12.07%,6.90% and 8.62% in the observation group respectively, and 36.21%,20.69% and 22.41% in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: Auricular point pressing with beans assisting patients undergoing medical abortion can relieve their pain during abortion, promote the discharge of decidual tissues and reduce the curettage rate and the incidences of nausea and vomiting.
