Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Wenpi Bushen Gujing prescription for primary nephrotic syndrome (PNS) and its effect on T lymphocyte subsets and serum immunoglobulin levels. Methods：A total of 80 cases of PNS patients were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method，40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with hormones，and the observation group was additionally treated with Wenpi Bushen Gujing prescription based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for six months. Before and after treatment，T lymphocyte subsets，immunoglobulin A(IgA)，IgG，IgM，24h urinary protein，albumin(Alb)，Chinese medicine syndrome scores， clinical effect and adverse reactions in the two groups were compared. Results： The total effective rate was 90.00% in the observation group， higher than that of 72.50% in the control group(P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of CD3 + ， CD4 + ， CD8 + ， CD4+/CD8+，IgA，IgG，IgM，24 h urinary protein and Alb between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment，the levels of CD4+/CD8+ and 24 h urinary protein in the control group were lower than those before treatment，and the levels of CD8+，IgG and Alb were higher(P＜0.05)；the levels of CD3+，CD4+，CD4+/CD8+，IgG and Alb in the observation group were higher than those before treatment and those in the control group(P＜0.05)，and the levels of CD8+，IgM and 24 h urinary protein were lower(P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the scores of lassitude in loin and legs，puffy face and body，fear of cold and cold limbs，poor appetite and torpid intake，bright pale complexion，hyposexuality，lassitude of spirit and lack of strength and pond dilute stool as well as the total scores between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment，the above scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment， and all the symptom scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group， differences being significant(P＜0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 10.00% in the observation group，lower than that of 32.50% in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion：The application of Wenpi Bushen Gujing prescription has significant curative effect in treating PNS，which can improve immune function，and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions caused by hormones.
