Abstract：Objective：To discuss the effect of Muxuekang capsules combined with calcium dobesilate capsules on levels of serum leptin(Leptin)，vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and natural ligand of the orphan G-protein coupled receptor APJ(Apelin) in patients with diabetic retinopathy. Methods： A total of 104 cases of patients with diabetic retinopathy were divided into the study group and the control group according to the random number table method，52 cases in each group. The control group was treated with calcium dobesilate capsules， and the study group was additionally treated with Muxuekang capsules based on the treatment of the control group. The changes in average visual acuity， levels of Leptin， VEGF and Apelin，as well as end-diastolic velocity(Edv)，peak systolic velocity(Psv)，resistance index(RI) and pulsatility index (PI) in ophthalmic artery in the two groups were observed. Results：After treatment，the visual acuity in the two groups was improved，and the one in the study group was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05)；the contents of Leptin，VEGF and Apelin in serum as well as RI and PI in the eyes in the two groups were decreased，and the indexes in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05)；Edv and Psv in the two groups were increased，and the ones in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion：Muxuekang capsules combined with calcium dobesilate capsules can effectively improve the visual acuity in patients with diabetic retinopathy， reduce the contents of Leptin，VEGF and Apelin in the blood，and improve the levels of hemodynamics in ophthalmic artery.
