Abstract: Objective: To investigate the effect of Changmaile capsules on Wnt signaling pathway in rats with carotid atherosclerosis. Methods:A total of 30 rats were randomly divided into the control group, the model group and the treatment group, with 10 rats in each group. Except for those in the control group, the rat models of carotid atherosclerosis were established by using high-fat diet as mutagen. The treatment group was fed Changmaile capsules at a dose of 5 mg/(kg·d), and each group was given corresponding feed. After 16 weeks, they were taken blood sampling and then were sacrificed. The levels of total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG) and low- density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL- C) in blood lipid were detected;the protein expressions of Wnt1,β-catenin and dvl-1 in carotid atherosclerosis plaques in rats were detected by Western blotting. Results : Compared with those in the control group , the levels of TC , TG , LDL-C and the protein expressions of Wnt1 , β- catenin and dvl- 1 in carotid atherosclerosis plaques in the model group were all increased(P< 0.05). Compared with those in the model group, the levels of TC,TG,LDL-C and the protein expressions of Wnt1,β- catenin and dvl- 1 in carotid atherosclerosis plaques in the treatment group were all decreased(P<0.05). Conclusion: Changmaile capsules can reduce the degree of carotid atherosclerosis by inhibiting the expressions of Wnt1,β-catenin and dvl-1 in Wnt signaling pathway in rats.
