Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of modified Qingjin Huatan tang for stroke- associated pneumonia. Methods:A total of 147 cases of patients with stroke-associated pneumonia were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the computer random coding method,74 and 73 cases in each group respectively. The control group was treated with routine western medicine,and the observation group was additionally treated with Qingjin Huatan tang based on the treatment of the control group. Clinical effect,immune function,the levels of C-reactive protein (CRP),procalcitonin(PCT) and tumor necrosis factor- α(TNF- α) as well as clinical indexes in the two groups were observed and compared. Results: The total effective rate was 94.52% in the observation group, higher than that of 77.03% in the control group, the difference being significant(χ2=7.64, P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of CD3+,CD8+,CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment,the levels of CD3+,CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment, and CD8 + was decreased(P<0.05); the levels of CD3 + , CD4 + and CD4 +/CD8 + in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of CRP,PCT and TNF- α between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment,the levels of CRP, PCT and TNF-α in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the levels in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). The recovery time of body temperature and leukocyte as well as the length of hospital stay in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:The application of modified Qingjin Huatan tang for stroke-associated pneumonia can significantly improve the clinical symptoms and immune function of patients, relieve the levels of inflammation and infection and significantly shorten the recovery time.
