Clinical Study on Auricular Point Pressing with Beans and Emotional Nursing of Chinese Medicine Combined with Routine Therapy Intervening Post-Stroke Depression
Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of auricular point pressing with beans and emotional nursing of Chinese medicine combined with routine therapy intervening post-stroke depression(PSD). Methods:A total of 96 cases of PSD patients were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group,48 cases in each group. Both groups were given rehabilitation therapy, psychological nursing and oral administration of aspirin enteric-coated tablets, simvastatin tablets and paroxetine hydrochloride tablets. The observation group was additionally given auricular point pressing with beans and emotional nursing of Chinese medicine. Both groups were treated for four weeks. Before and after treatment, the scores of Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD- 17), Patient Health Queationnaire- 9(PHQ- 9) and modified Barthel Index(BI) for evaluating activities of daily living in the two groups were evaluated; the clinical effect was compared; the nursing satisfaction of patients and their family members was evaluated when discharge. Results:After treatment, the clinical effect in the observation group was better than that in the control group(P<0.01). The scores of HAMD and PHQ- 9 in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.01), and the scores of BI were increased(P< 0.01). The scores of HAMD and PHQ-9 in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.01),and the scores of BI was higher(P<0.01). The nursing satisfaction in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Based on routine therapy, the additional intervention of auricular point pressing with beans and emotional nursing of Chinese medicine on PSD,can reduce the degree of depression, and improve activities of daily living and nursing satisfaction, with significant clinical effect.
