Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of modified Bushen Huoxue tang combined with clomifene citrate capsules for infertility caused by polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS). Methods：A total of 80 cases of patients with infertility caused by PCOS of the kidney deficiency and blood stasis type were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method，40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with clomifene citrate capsules，and the observation group was additionally treated with modified Bushen Huoxue tang based on the treatment in the control group. Both groups were continuously treated for three menstrual cycles. The levels of antimullerian hormone(AMH)，estradiol(E2) and testosterone(T) in serum，the growth of follicles and Chinese medicine syndrome scores before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. The clinical effect in the two groups was compared. Results： After treatment， the levels of E2， T and AMH in serum in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the levels of above three index in the observation group were all lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， when compared with those before treatment， the number of follicles in the two groups were decreased(P＜0.05)， the maximum diameter of dominant follicle increased(P＜0.05)， and Chinese medicine syndrome scores decreased(P＜0.05). After treatment，compared with those in the control group，in the observation group， the number of follicles was less(P＜0.05)， the maximum diameter of dominant follicle was larger(P＜ 0.05)， the Chinese medicine syndrome scores was lower(P＜0.05). The total effective rate was 90.00% in the observation group，and 72.50% in the control group，differences being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion：The therapy of Bushen Huoxue tang combined with clomifene citrate capsules in treating infertility caused by PCOS of the kidney deficiency and blood stasis type， which can improve the levels of sex hormones and conduce to the growth of follicles and the recovery of ovarian reserve function.
