Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of Chinese medicine emotional nursing on intervening senile patients undergoing emergency percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty(PTCA). Methods:A total of 54 cases of senile patients undergoing emergency PTCA with acute myocardial infarction were selected and divided into two groups according to the random number table method,27 cases in each group. The control group was given routine nursing, and the observation group was given Chinese medicine emotional nursing intervention. The psychological status, the heart rate, blood pressure, early activity time after surgery,as well as the hospitalization time and condition of walking test before and after surgery were compared between the two groups. Results:Before surgery, when compared the scores of Self- rating Depression Scale (SDS) and Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),the heart rate, systolic pressure and diastolic pressure between the two groups, there was no significance in the difference(P>0.05). At the 24th hour after surgery, the scores of SDS and SAS in the observation group were decreased when compared with those in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). During the 20 minutes of surgery and at the 24th hour after surgery, the heart rate, systolic pressure and diastolic pressure in the observation group were more significantly improved when compared with those in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After surgery, the starting time of on-bed activity and off-bed activity, and the hospitalization time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05). The 6-minute walking distance on the 6th day after surgery and 12- minute walking distance on the day before discharge were more than those in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: Chinese medicine emotional nursing has significant curative effect in intervening senile patients undergoing emergency percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty, which can effectively relieve their bad mood, maintain the stability of the heart rate and blood pressure during surgery, enhance their sports ability,as well as shorten the hospitalization time.
