Abstract:Objective:To discuss the optimization of fire dragon moxibustion quantity based on evaluating the analgesic effect of lumbar disc herniation of cold-dampness type. Methods:Selected 72 cases of patients with lumbar disc herniation who were admitted and treated in the third affiliated hospital of Zhejiang University of Chinese Medicine from January 2016 to December 2018,and divided them into the treatment group A,B and C randomly,24 cases in each group. The treatment group A,B and C received fire dragon moxibustion for 30 min,40 min,and 50 min respectively. Compared the scores of Meliorate- Japanese Orthopaedic Association Scale (M- JOA), the scores of Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) before and after treatment and therapeutic effect among the three groups. Results: After treatment, the scores of M- JOA in the three groups were significantly higher than those before treatment(P<0.05),and the scores of VAS were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.05);after treatment, the scores of M-JOA in the treatment Group B and the treatment Group C were significantly higher than those in the treatment Group A(P<0.05), the scores of VAS were significantly lower than those in the treatment Group A(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference being found when comparing the scores of M-JOA and VAS in-between the treatment Group B and the treatment Group C(P>0.05). After treatment, the clinical effect in the treatment Group B and the treatment Group C was better than that in the treatment Group A(P<0.05);there was no significant difference being found when comparing the clinical effect in- between the treatment Group B and the treatment Group C(P>0.05). No adverse events, serious adverse events and serious adverse reactions occurred in the three groups. Conclusion:Fire dragon moxibustion has good clinical effect in treating lumbar disc herniation of cold- dampness type. The clinical effect of fire dragon moxibustion for 40 minutes is similar to that for 50 min, being better than that for 30 min. Therefore, fire dragon moxibustion for 40 min is considered relatively appropriate.
