Analysis of Effect of Hot Medicinal Compress of Modified Wuzi Powder Combined with Comprehensive Rehabilitation Measures on Promoting Rehabilitation After Sur⁃ gery of Breast Cancer
Abstract: Objective: To observe hot medicinal compress of modified Wuzi powder combined with comprehensive rehabilitation measures on promoting rehabilitation after surgery of breast cancer. Methods:A total of 108 cases of patients after surgery of breast cancer were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group, 54 cases in each group. Both groups were given comprehensive rehabilitation measures, such as the oral administration of ibuprofen sustained- release tablets and tramadol hydrochloride- paracetamol tablets to control pain, compression bandaging with bandage assisted by air pressure pump to relieve lymphedema,as well as gradual rehabilitation exercise, and were treated with routine postoperative nursing measures; the observation group was additionally given hot medicinal compress of modified Wuzi powder. Both groups were treated for four weeks. Before treatment and on the 7th, 14th, and 28th days of treatment, the scores of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) for pain in surgical site were evaluated, and the incidence of lymphedema was counted;before and after treatment, the motion of the upper limbs was evaluated via Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand(DASH) questionaire. The satisfaction toward nursing measures was counted and compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the scores of VAS in the two groups were gradually decreased(P<0.01),and compared with those before treatment, there was significance in differences(P<0.01). On the 7th,14th,and 28th days of treatment, the score of VAS in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.01). On the 14th and 28th days of treatment, the incidences of lymphedema in the observation group were 24.07% and 5.56% respectively, lower than those of 44.44% and 22.22% in the control group at the same period, differences being significant(P<0.05). The scores of DASH in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.01), and the score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.01). The nursing satisfaction in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: Based on routine comprehensive rehabilitation measures, the additional hot medicinal compress of modified Wuzi powder in intervening patients after surgery of breast cancer, can significantly alleviate the degree of postoperative pain, reduce the incidence of swelling in the upper limbs, promote the recovery of physical function of the upper limbs,as well as conduce to their rehabilitation and increase their satisfaction toward nursing measures.
