Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Jianpi Xiaotang granules for type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with coronary heart disease. Methods：A total of 64 cases of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with coronary heart disease were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method， 31 and 33 cases in each group respectively. The control group was given routine treatment，and the observation group was additionally treated with Jianpi Xiaotang granules based on the treatment of the control group. The changes in activity of nuclear factor κB(NF-κB)， fasting blood glucose(FBG)， postprandial 2h blood glucose(P2hBG) and Chinese medicine syndrome scores before and after treatment in the two groups were observed. Results： Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of levels of FBG and P2hBG between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment，the levels of FBG and P2hBG in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment， and the two levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group，differences being significant(P＜0.05). Before treatment，when compared the activity of NF-κB and Chinese medicine syndrome scores between the two groups， there was no significance in the difference(P＞0.05). After treatment，the activity of NF-κB and Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment，and the activity and scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group， differences being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion： In the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with coronary heart disease， Jianpi Xiaotang granules can inhibit their activity of NF- κB，alleviate inflammatory responses，reduce the levels of FBG and P2hBG，and improve their clinical symptoms with good clinical effect.
