Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Qizhi Kebitong capsules combined with acupuncture for diabetic peripheral neuropathy with qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome and its effect on nerve conduction velocity. Methods:A total of 120 cases of patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group,60 cases in each group. Both groups were given basic treatment;the treatment group was additionally given Qizhi Kebitong capsules combined with acupuncture; the control group was additionally given mecobalamin tablets. The improvement of clinical symptoms of Chinese medicine,Toronto clinical scores and nerve conduction velocity were observed in the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 81.67% in the treatment group and 61.67% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.01). After treatment, the clinical symptom scores,Toronto clinical scores in the two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.01), and the two scores in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.01). After treatment, the motor nerve conduction velocity (MNCV) and sensory never conduction velocity(SNCV) of median nerve, ulnar nerve, common peroneal nerve and posterior tibial nerve in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.01),and all indexes in the treatment group was more significant than that in the control group(P<0.01). Conclusion: The therapy of Qizhi Kebitong capsules combined with acupuncture for diabetic peripheral neuropathy with qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome can effectively improve nerve conduction velocity and clinical effect.
