Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Shenmai injection for acute attack of chronic pancreatitis. Methods:A total of 120 cases of senile patients with chronic pancreatitis were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group,60 cases in each group. The control group was given symptomatic treatment in western medicine, and the observation group was additionally given intravenous infusion of Shenmai injection based on the treatment of the control group. Changes in Chinese medicine syndrome scores, and levels of blood and urine amylase before and after treatment as well as the total clinical effect in the two groups were compared. Results:The total effective rate was 88.33% in the observation group and 70.00% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, syndrome scores including abdominal pain, abdominal distension, nausea and vomiting in the two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of blood and urine amylase in the two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05); the levels in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: Based on symptomatic treatment in western medicine, the additional application of Shenmai injection has definite curative effect in treating acute attack of chronic pancreatitis, which can significantly improve the clinical symptoms and the levels of blood and urine amylase.
