Clinical Study on Jianpi Yangxin Tang Combined with Donepezil Hydrochloride Tablets for Mild-to-Moderate Alzheimer Disease of Heart-Spleen Deficiency Type
Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Jianpi Yangxin tang combined with donepezil hydrochloride tablets for mild- to- moderate alzheimer disease(AD) of the heart- spleen deficiency type. Methods: A total of 150 cases of AD patients of the heart- spleen deficiency type were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method, 75 cases in each group. Both groups were given routine symptomatic treatment; the control group was additionally given oral administration of donepezil hydrochloride tablets, and the observation group was additionally treated with Jianpi Yangxin tang based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for three months. The changes in Chinese medicine syndrome scores as well as the scores of Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE) and Activity of Daily Living(ADL) before and after treatment in the two groups were observed. The incidences of adverse reactions were recorded in the two groups. Results:After treatment,the Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment,the scores of MMES and ADL in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 5.33% in the observation group, lower than that of 32.00% in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: Compared with that of simple donepezil hydrochloride tablets,the therapy of Jianpi Yangxin tang combined with donepezil hydrochloride tablets in treating mild-tomoderate AD patients of the heart-spleen deficiency type has better improving effect on clinical symptoms,intelligence level and activity of daily living,and can reduce the incidence of adverse reactions.
