Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of point application with Fructus Evodiae at Yongquan point(KI 1) for patients with insomnia during orthopedic perioperative period. Methods: A total of 98 cases of patients with insomnia undergone orthopedic surgery were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group, 49 cases in each group. The control group was given routine nursing intervention, and proper amount of estazolam or diazepam to help fall asleep when necessary. The observation group was additionally treated with point application with Fructus Evodiae at Yongquan point(KI 1) based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for two weeks. The clinical effect and nursing satisfaction in the two groups were counted;the scores of emotions and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) as well as the sleep time every night in the two groups were observed and compared. Results: The total effective rate was 97.96% in the observation group, better than that of 91.84% in the control group, the difference being significant(Z=1.700, P<0.05). After nursing intervention, the scores of emotions and PSQI in the two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before intervention(P<0.05),and the above two scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After nursing intervention, the average sleep time in the two groups was significantly prolonged than that before intervention(P<0.05),and the average sleep time in the observation group was longer than that in the control group(P<0.05). The nursing satisfaction was 85.71% in the observation group, better than that of 65.31% in the control group, the difference being significant(Z=2.128, P<0.05). Conclusion: The intervention of point application with Fructus Evodiae at Yongquan point(KI 1) has significant curative effect in treating patients with insomnia during orthopedic perioperative period, which can improve their sleep quality and nursing satisfaction.
