Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Shenqi granules combined with alprostadil injection for chronic glomerulonephritis with spleen- kidney qi deficiency syndrome and its effect on the kidney function and the levels of granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor(GM-CSF),insulin-like growth factor-Ⅱ(IGF-Ⅱ),leukotaxin(Lkn-1) in serum. Methods:A total of 50 cases of patients with chronic glomerulonephritis with spleen-kidney qi deficiency syndrome were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, 27 and 23 cases in each group respectively. The control group was treated with alprostadil injection, and the observation group was additionally treated with Shenqi granules based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for four weeks. The clinical effect and the levels of GM-CSF,IGF-Ⅱ,Lkn-1,blood urea nitrogen(BUN),serum creatinine(SCr), 24-hour urine protein were compared between the two groups;the disappearance time of edema,and the recovery time of erythrocyte sedimentation,blood pressure,urine routine and complements were recorded. Results:The total effective rate was 96.30% in the observation group and 73.91% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment,the levels of GM-CSF,IGF-Ⅱ and Lkn-1 in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the above levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment,the levels of BUN,SCr and 24-hour urine protein in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the above levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). The disappearance time of edema, and the recovery time of erythrocyte sedimentation, blood pressure, urine routine and complements in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of Shenqi granules combined with alprostadil injection has significant curative effect in treating patients with chronic glomerulonephritis with spleen-kidney qi deficiency syndrome,which can improve the levels of GM-CSF,IGF-Ⅱ and Lkn- 1 as well as the indexes of the kidney function.
