Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of shockwave and wax therapy for subacromial impingement syndrome(SIS). Methods: A total of 60 SIS patients were selected and randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group,30 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with shockwave and wax therapy, while the control group was treated with the therapy of massage combined with wax. Both groups were treated for four weeks. The Constant Shoulder Score before and after treatment was compared between the two groups, and the incidence of adverse reactions was observed. Results:The markedly effective rate was 73.33% in the treatment group and 50.00% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, each score in Constant Shoulder Score and the total scores in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment, differences being significant(P<0.05). Each score in Constant Shoulder Score and the total score in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). No adverse reactions occurred during the treatment in the two groups. Conclusion: The therapy of shockwave and wax for SIS can effectively improve shoulder joint function and relieve pain of patients.
