Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of modifiedChaihuShugan powder combined with domperidone for functional dyspepsia with liver constraint and qi stagnation syndrome. Methods:A total of 80 cases of patients with functional dyspepsia with liver constraint and qi stagnation syndrome were randomly divided into the western medicine group and the combination group,40 cases in each group. The western medicine group was treated with deanxit and domperidone, and the combination group was given modifiedChaihuShugan powder combined with domperidone. The Chinese medicine syndrome scores, clinical effect and negative emotions as well as the recurrence during the six- month follow- up in the two groups were observed and compared. Results: The total effective rate was 95.0% in the combination group and 80.0% in the western medicine group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05); the score in the combination group was significantly lower than that in the western medicine group(P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of HAMA and HAMD in the two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the above two scores in the combination group were significantly lower than those in the western medicine group(P<0.05). The recurrence rate was 2.6% in the combination group and 25.0% in the western medicine group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 7.5% in the combination group and 5.0% in the western medicine group, there being no significance in the difference(P>0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of modifiedChaihuShugan powder combined with deanxit and domperidone has significant curative effect in treating functional dyspepsia with liver constraint and qi stagnation syndrome, which can effectively alleviate thesymptoms, improve their negative emotions with low recurrence rate and good prognosis.
