Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of breviscapine injection combined with Qingfei Huatan tang for acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD). Methods:A total of 126 cases of AECOPD patients were randomly divided into two groups,63 cases in each group. The control group was treated with breviscapine injection based on routine western medicine, and the observation group was additionally treated with Qingfei Huatan tang based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for two weeks. Before and after treatment, the changes in Chinese medicine syndrome scores, lung function including forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1) and FEV1/forced vital capacity(FVC) and levels of inflammatory factors including tumor necrosis factor α(TNF- α), interleukin- 6(IL- 6) and interleukin- 8(IL- 8) in the two groups were observed and compared. Results: After treatment, the scores of coughing, expectoration, chest distress and other syndromes in the two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, FEV1 and FEV1/FVC in the two groups were significantly increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the two indexes in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of TNF-α,IL-6 and IL-8 in serum in the two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the above indexes in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:Breviscapine injection combined with Qingfei Huatan tang for AECOPD can effectively control pulmonary inflammation, improve expectoration and coughing, and promote the recovery of lung function.
