Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of Chinese medicine characteristic nursing for patients undergoing appendectomy. Methods:A total of 96 cases of patients undergoing appendectomy were divided into the study group and the control group according to the random number table method, 48 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine nursing, and the study group was intervened by Chinese medicine characteristic nursing. After surgery, clinical symptom scores, the recovery time and incidence of complications in the two groups were compared. Results: Before intervention,there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the scores of fever,abdominal pain and gastrointestinal symptoms between the two groups(P>0.05). After intervention, the scores of fever, abdominal pain and gastrointestinal symptoms in the study group were all lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). The time of first anal exhaust,first out of bed activity,suture removal and hospitalization in the study group was shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05). The incidence of complications was 4.17% in the study group,significantly lower than that of 16.67% in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: Chinese medicine characteristic nursing for patients undergoing appendectomy has significant effect,and can shorten the postoperative recovery time,promote the rapid disappearance of related symptoms, reduce the incidence of complications and help early rehabilitation.
