Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of orthopaedic external washing No.1 prescription for ankylosis of wrist after surgery for distal radius fracture. Methods：A total of 152 cases of patients with ankylosis of wrist after surgery for distal radius fracture were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method，76 cases in each group. The control group was treated with manipulation combined with functional exercise，and the observation group were additionally given fumigation and washing with orthopaedic external washing No.1 prescription based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for seven days. After treatment，the clinical effect in the two groups were evaluated. Before and after treatment，the scores of Patient-Rated Wrist Evaluation(PRWE) in the two groups were compared. Results： The total effective rate was 94.74% in the observation group and 86.84% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the PRWE scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment， and the score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group， differences being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion：Orthopaedic external washing No.1 prescription for ankylosis of wrist after surgery for distal radius fracture can improve clinical effect and wrist function as well as relieve pain.
