Meta- Analysis on Oral Administration of Chinese Herbal Medicine Combined with Hormone Inhalation for Children with Bronchial Asthma in Remission Stage with Lung-Spleen Qi Deficiency Syndrome
Abstract: Objective: To verify the curative effect of oral administration of Chinese herbal medicine combined with hormone inhalation for children with bronchial asthma in remission stage with lung- spleen qi deficiency syndrome by the method of data mining. Methods: Published clinical literature on treating children with bronchial asthma in remission stage with lung- spleen qi deficiency syndrome were selected, in which the experiment group treated with Chinese herbal medicine combined with hormone and the control group treated with hormone were compared. After screening, Metaanalysis on the effective rates, total symptom scores, the forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1) and the numbers of asthma attacks in the two groups was conducted by RevMan 5.3 software. Results: A total of 17 clinical randomized controlled trials were included, with 1 569 cases of patients. Meta-analysis results showed that when compared with those in the control group, the total clinical effective rate in the experiment group was higher and the number of asthma attacks as well as the total symptom scores were lower, differences being significant(P<0.05);FEV1 was higher, but there was no significance in the difference. Conclusion: For the children with bronchial asthma in remission stage with lung- spleen qi deficiency syndrome, the therapy of oral administration of Chinese herbal medicine combined with hormone inhalation has better effect than that of inhaling hormone alone.
