Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Yiqi Zhuyu prescription for early cervical spondylotic myelopathy.Methods：A total of 40 patients with early cervical spondylotic myelopathy were selected and divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the block randomization，20 patients in each group.The control group was treated with meloxicam tablets and eperisone hydrochloride tablets，while the treatment group was treated with Yiqi Zhuyu prescription.The scores of cervical spondylosis of Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA)and visual analogue scale(VAS)were compared and observed before and after treatment in the two groups.The absorption rate and protrusion rate of cervical disc herniation were measured by the method proposed by Tomita Shoji.Results：Compared the scores of JOA in the two groups two weeks，three months and six months after treatment with those before treatment respectively，there were significant differences(P＜0.05).The JOA score in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group three months and six months after treatment，differences being significant(P ＜ 0.05).Compared the VAS scores in the two groups two weeks，three months and six months after treatment with those before treatment respectively，there were significant differences(P＜0.05).The VAS score in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group three months and six months after treatment，differences being significant(P＜0.05).The protrusion rate of cervical disc herniation in the treatment group was decreased when compared with that before treatment，while that in the control group was increased when compared with that before treatment，differences being significant(P＜ 0.05).The absorption rate of cervical disc herniation in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion：Yiqi Zhuyu prescription can effectively alleviate the symptoms of neck pain in patients with early cervical spondylotic myelopathy，delay the continuous development of the disease，and has better long-term effect.
