To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture combined with Danshen injection in the treatment of hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy(HIE)in neonates. Methods:A toal of 113 neonates with HIE were randomly divided into two groups.Fifty six cases in the control group were treated with acupuncture, and fifty seven cases in the study group were treated with Danshen injection based on the treatment of the control group. The course of treatment in both groups was fifteen days. The clinical effect and the incidence of adverse reactions were statistically analyzed in the two groups, and the changes in the score of neonatal behaviral neurological assessment(NBNA)and levels of erythrocyte volume, fibrinogen, plasma viscosity, whole blood low-shear viscosity and whole blood high-shear viscosity were observed and compared before and after treatment in the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 89.47%in the study group and 71.43%in the control group, the difference being significant(P < 0.05).After treatment,NBNA scores in both groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P < 0.05),and the NBNA score in the study group were higher than that in the control group(P < 0.05).After treatment, the levels of erythrocyte volume, fibrinogen, plasma viscosity, whole blood low-shear viscosity and whole blood high-shear viscosity were all decreased in the two groups when compared with those before treatment(P< 0.05),and the above levels in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P< 0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions was 10.53%in the study group and 8.93%in the control group, there being no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:The therapy of Danshen injection combined with acupuncture in effective in treating neonates with HIE,which can significantly improve the neurological behavior and hemorheological indexes with great safety.
