To observe the effect of Bugu granules on bone mass after hollow screw fixation of the middle-aged and elderly patients with femoral neck fracture,so as to provide basis for clinical prevention and treatment of disuse osteoporosis. Methods:A total of 58 cases of patients with femoral neck fracture undergoing internal fixation with hollow screws were randomly divided into two groups,29 cases in each group. After internal fixation with hollow screws, the control group was given oral administration of calcium carbonate and vitamin D3 tablets, and the experiment group was additionally treated with oral administration of Bugu granules based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for three months. The changes in bone mass and biochemical indexes before and after treatment in the two groups were observed and compared. Results: After treatment, the bone mineral density values in the two groups were still significantly lower than those before treatment(P < 0.05),and the one in the control group was lower than that in the experiment group(P < 0.05).After treatment, the bone mineral content in the experiment group was decreased when compared with that before treatment, but there was no significance in the difference(P > 0.05);no significant difference was found in the comparison of the contents between the two groups(P > 0.05).After treatment, the bone mineral content in the control group was significantly decreased when compared with that before treatment(P<0.05).After surgery for three months, the level of blood calcium in the experiment group was higher than those after surgery for three days and for one month respectively, differences being significant(P < 0.05);compared each two levels in different time periods in the control group respectively, there was no significance in the difference(P > 0.05).After surgery for one month and for three months, the levels of creatinine in the experiment group were significantly increased when compared with that after surgery for three days respectively(P < 0.05),and were higher than those in the control group in the same period respectively(P < 0.05);compared the levels in the experiment group after surgery for one month and for three months, there was no significance in the difference(P>0.05).No significant difference was found in the comparison of each two levels of creatinine in the control group in different time periods respectively(P>0.05).The adverse reactions in the two groups were mild and did not affect the treatment after expectant treatment. Conclusion:Bugu granules is safe and effective to prevent osteoporosis after surgery for femoral neck fracture, whose therapeutic mechanism may be the effect on trabecula bone by regulating synthesis of biochemical signals, but the exact mechanism still needs further study.
