Objective：To explore the effect of modified Wuling powder on the dizziness caused by Meniere disease of turbid phlegm obstructing the middle jiao type.Methods：Divided 126 cases of patients with Meniere disease of turbid phlegm obstructing the middle jiao type randomly into the treatment group and the control group，63 cases in each group.The treatment group was treated with modified Wuling powder，while the control group was treated with ginkgo leaf extract and dipyridamole injection，and received Betahistine Mesilate tablets for treatment.The clinical symptoms in the two groups were evaluated by the dizziness handicap inventory(DHI)and the visual analogue scale(VAS)before and seven days after treatment.Results：Before treatment，compared the scores of physical，emotional and functional aspects，and scores of symptoms including dizziness，tinnitus，swollen ear，aural fullness and hearing loss in the two groups，there was no significance in the difference(P＞0.05).After treatment，scores of the above indexes were decreased significantly when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05).Scores of the above indexes in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion：Modified Wuling powder is safe and effective in treating dizziness caused by Meniere disease of turbid phlegm obstructing the middle jiao type，which is worthy of promotion and application.
