Objective：To analyze the distribution characteristics of Chinese medicine syndrome of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis(IPF)，reveal the distribution regularity of Chinese medicine syndrome of IPF，and provide reference for establishing the diagnostic criteria of Chinese medicine syndrome of IPF.Methods：Retrieved and screened all the literature about Chinese medicine syndrome of IPF on CBM，CNKI，TCM and VIP，and conducted statistical description，factor analysis and cluster analysis via SPSS 20.0.Results：60 common symptoms were found≥ 8%in 401 pieces of literature collected，5 types of common syndrome were found by means of factor analysis，cluster analysis and frequency statistics，and the distribution characteristics of major and minor symptoms of common syndrome were thereby concluded.Conclusion：5 types of common Chinese medicine syndrome of IPF have been found on the basis of literature research：syndrome of phlegm blocking the lung，lung-kidney qi deficiency syndrome，lung qi-yin deficiency syndrome，syndrome of phlegm-heat stagnating the lung and syndrome of phlegm-turbidity blocking the lung.The distribution of syndrome and its major and minor symptoms shows regularity to some extent，but it still needs to be combined with the clinical research and expert experience so as to provide reference for the establishment of diagnostic criteria of Chinese medicine syndrome.
