According to Chinese medicine， qi is the source of all things， and the ascending and descending of qi movement run through the changing process of all things.The disorder of the ascending and descending of qimovement is an important reason of the occurrence and development of m any diseases.The authors started from"Numerous diseases result from qi"in clinical practice，and believed that the key of the pathogenesis of allergic rhinitis lies in the disorder of the ascending and descending of qimovement of zang-fu organs including the spleen，the stom ach，the liver and the lung.Therefore，the treatment focuses on adjusting the qimovement of zang-fu organs and adopts modified Jiegeng Yuanshentang by Huang Yuanyu in Qing dynasty as the m ain prescription to treat allergic rhinitis，which achieves good clinicaleffect.Keywords：Allergic rhinitis；Ascending and descending of qimovement；Jiegeng Yuanshen tang
