Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Pudilan Antiphlogistic Oral Liquid combined with western medicine for acute suppurative tonsillitis in children. Methods：A total of 80 cases of children with acute suppurative tonsillitis were selected and divided into the study group and the control group according to the random number table method， with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium Tablets，and the study group was additionally treated with Pudilan Antiphlogistic Oral Liquid based on the treatment of the control group. After 5 days of treatment，the clinical effects， improvement time of symptoms， cellular immune function and levels of inflammatory indexes including white blood cell count (WBC) and C- reactive protein (CRP) were observed in the two groups. Results： The total effective rate was 97.50% in the study group and 82.50% in the control group， the difference being significant (P＜0.05). The defervescence time，regression time of swelling in tonsil，and disappearing time of pharyngalgia in the study group were shorter than those in the control group， the difference being significant (P ＜ 0.05). After treatment ， the levels of CD3+ ， CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ in T-lymphocytes in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)， and the CD8 + levels were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)； and the improvement of the above levels in T-lymphocytes in the study group was more significant than that in the control group (P＜0.05). After treatment， the levels of CRP and WBC in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)； the levels of CRP and WBC in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). Conclusion： Pudilan Antiphlogistic Oral Liquid and Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium Tablets has a significant effect in treating children with acute suppurative tonsillitis， which can effectively inhibit the inflammatory reactions of the body， improve the immunity of the body，and accelerate the remission of symptoms and signs.
