Abstract：Objective：To observe the effect of the therapy of Congrong Yishen Granules combined with Valsartan Capsules on chronic kidney disease. Methods：A total of 80 patients with chronic kidney disease were randomly divided into the study group and the control group by number parity method，with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Valsartan Capsules，and the study group was additionally treated with Congrong Yishen Granules based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for one month as a course. The clinical effects and the levels of albuminuria， kidney function indexes， including serum creatinine (SCr) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN)， and disease progression were evaluated after three courses of treatment in the two groups. Results：The total effective rate was 92.50% in the study group and 75.00% in the control group，the difference being significant (P＜0.05). After one， two and three months of treatment， the levels of 24- hour urinary protein in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)， and showed a downward trend (P＜ 0.05)；the level of 24-hour urinary protein in the study group was lower than that in the control group at the same time point (P＜0.05). After treatment， the SCr and BUN levels in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)，and the above two levels in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). The disease progression rate was 20.00% in the study group and 47.50% in the control group，the difference being significant between the two groups (P＜0.05). Conclusion： The therapy of Congrong Yishen Granules combined with Valsartan Capsules can effectively improve the clinical effect，reduce albuminuria，improve the kidney function and delay the progression of chronic kidney disease.
