Abstract:Objective:A theoretical system dominated by the syndrome differentiation system of six meridians of circular motion was constructed according to the author's clinical practice combined with the experience of famous Chinese medicine physician. The cervical spondylosis is identified based on the six meridians of circular motion. It is believed that cervical spondylosis is caused by the abnormality of human meridians and collaterals and qi movement, resulting in the imbalance of six qi,the abnormality of qi circulation throughout the body, and the imbalance of yin and yang. Cervical spondylosis of neck type usually takes neck pain as the main symptom, and often happens in the place where the Taiyang meridian passes, and the Taiyang syndrome should be addressed as the primary approach;cervical spondylotic radiculopathy is usually characterized by upper limb pain and numbness, which often happens at the place where the Taiyang meridian and Shaoyang meridian pass with numbness caused by Jueyin blood deficiency. Therefore, it should be treated by opening the Taiyang, pivoting the Shaoyang and lifting the Jueyin; sympathetic cervical spondylosis is mainly characterized by anxiety, insomnia and chest tightness, which can be caused by the failure of deficient Shaoyin and yang qi to warm, and also by the failure of Jueyin to lift. Therefore, it should be treated by warming the Shaoyin and lifting the Jueyin; cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type mostly takes dizziness as the main symptom, which may be arise from the upward attack of Taiyang water retention, the failure of Shaoyin's yang qi to ascend due to cold transformation, and insufficient Jueyin ascending movement leading to blood deficiency and malnourishment. Therefore, it should be treated from lifting the Jueyin, warming the Shaoyin, opening the Taiyang and resovling fluid retention. Through the analysis on clinical syndrome differentiation, the etiology, lesion location, disease nature, and progression trend of cervical spondylosis can be accurately identified. By simplifying complexity and flexibly modifying classical formulas,a favorable curative effect can be achieved.
