Abstract: This article introduces Professor PENG Xuming's clinical experience in treating heel pain using the three-phase theory of tendon-meridian-zang organ. Rooted in the classical Chinese medicine concept that “all diseases begin with the pathogenic factors invade the skin and hair … then invade the meridians, and if lingering, they eventually transmit to the fu organ,” Professor PENG Xuming classifies the pathological progression of heel pain into three phases: tendon constriction phase, meridian-vessel impediment and obstruction phase, and zang organ impediment phase. He also formulated the three treatments of relaxing tendons and dissipating mass, eliminating pathogens and unblocking the meridians, and norishing liver and kidney. This phased approach, tailored to disease progression, demonstrates significant clinical efficacy.
