Abstract：The Expert Consensus on Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment of Functional Bloating in 2023 was revised under the leadership of the the Branch of Gastrointestinal Diseases，China Association of Chinese Medicine. This updated consensus builds upon the Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Common Digestive System Diseases：Functional Bloating（ Primary Care Version） published in 2018. It incorporates the current situation in China and the latest research advancements to adjust the traditional Chinese medicine pathogenesis and syndromes of functional bloating （FB）. The consensus includes modern experts' academic experiences and evidence-based research， recommends new treatment methods，optimizes the efficacy evaluation index system，and systematically identifies the treatment challenges and analyses the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine for FB.
