Abstract：Objective：To analysis the status，research hotspot and trend of lumbar disc herniation treated by traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)，and to provide reference for clinical and scientific research. Methods：Search the relevant literature on TCM treatment of lumbar disc herniation published on CNKI from July 1， 2016 to December 31， 2021， and apply CiteSpace visualization software to analyze the authors ， institutions and keywords of the relevant literatures. Results ： 4 153 valid documents were retrieved， and the annual publication volume was high and rising. Among them， a total of 587 authors were included， 17 people including ZHU Liguo were cited≥5， 311 research institutions， and 19 institutions including Gansu University of TCM were cited≥5. After excluding keywords without analytical significance ， the top 10 keywords in the frequency and intermediary centrality greater than 0.1 were： massage(242， 0.11)， acupuncture(164， 0.14)，lumbar function(114，0.23)，traction(96，0.12)，Chinese medicine fumigation(80，0.23).Emergent keywords ranked in the top five are： lumbar function， acupuncture and massage， Shentong Zhuyu tang， massage of TCM， traction. Conclusion：The research focus of TCM treatment of lumbar disc herniation mainly focuses on drug application，manipulation treatment and acupuncture method，which gradually tends to combine clinical and basic research. Based on the frequency of keyword occurrence， emergent strength and intermediary centrality， and found that the study of "lumbar function" has shown explosive growth recently，and is expected to become a new research hotspot.
